Your Temporary Crown

Your tooth has just been prepared for the placement of a crown restoration. For a few days you may experience sensitivity to cold and chewing. The gum around the tooth may be sore and bleed easily during brushing.

It is advisable to be cautious while chewing so as to favor the area around the temporary crown. Gentle, thorough brushing and rinsing or use of an irrigation device (Listerine or warm salt water) will aid in comfortable recovery. Unless otherwise instructed, refrain from flossing or vigorous toothpick use around the temporary crown so it is not accidentally lifted off.

If your temporary crown becomes loose, comes off or is otherwise troubling you, please call the office.
